Polio correspondence, 1952-1956.

This series consists of correspondence of Ala.'s State Health Officer Dr. D.G. Gill with members of the Subcommittee on Epidemic Intelligence of the Association of State and Territorial Health officers; a committee which he chaired. This subcommittee acted as an advisor to the Committee on Infectious Diseases. The correspondence is with other members of the subcommittee and the National Foundation on Infantile Paralysis. It concerns the push for a vaccine and vaccinations against poliomyelitis and ways to utilize the vaccine in the state to immunize the greatest number of children.
